Marc Riboud - 1967
I chose this photo because of the desperation of peace thrived for in the vietnam war portrayed in the photo. I loved how from his view you can see both the soldiers and the girl's facial expressions. I think this made the top 40 photos because it shows the two sides of this decade, the war and the peace, and how one confronts the other.
William Anders - 1968
This photo was selected by myself because of the vast and void like composition. His whole view of space is enormous, and our world is put into reality. I believe this made the top 40 photos because it shows how much we have yet to explore, and it shows our lives from a new perspective.
Vanderlei Almeida - 2011
I selected this photo because it struck a really hard emotional chord for my love of dogs, this one is by the grave of his owner. The photographers composition shows multiple graves dug in the back, and it shows the devastating effects of the landslides in Rio de Janeiro. This photo made the top 40 to probably to raise awareness of Landslides in Brazil.
